Well done to our photo competition winners!
Now in its third year, the Loving Life in Lawley competition - organised by the Lawley Village Developer Group - has once again brought out the budding photographers in local residents, with a superb selection of entries reflecting the neighbourly atmosphere, appealing architecture and wonderful scenery in and around this thriving new community.
The winner of the adult category this year is Frank Lowe, who has been awarded £500 for his scenic shot of a picturesque pond at Lawley. Meanwhile second place goes to Tim Growcott, who has won £100 for his two artistic photos - one of Lawley Village at night time, and one of a hot air balloon over a misty local landscape.
Last year's winner in the 12 to 18-year-olds category, Katie Kinnon (17), has reclaimed her title this year and wins the top prize of a £100 gift voucher for her creative shot of a teenager enjoying life at Lawley Village. Runner-up Regan Capes won a £50 gift voucher thanks to the 16-year-old's photograph of the new homes at the development.
The winner of the Under 11s category is Dylan Guy, who captured two youngsters having fun at the Lawley Village sign on a sunny day, and the runner-up is Joel Crabbe for his unique image of the new homes as seen through a looking glass. Dylan wins a £100 gift voucher, while Joel takes home a £50 voucher for his efforts.
The winners were selected by a judging panel made up of Leon Murray, Mayor of the Borough of Telford and Wrekin, Justine Ranson, Creative and Cultural Development Officer at Telford & Wrekin Council, Councillor Jayne Greenaway and Councillor Mark Boylan from Lawley and Overdale Parish Council, 2014 winner of the adult category Chris Lewis and Shropshire Star Journalist Cathy Stanworth.
