£1 million handover to Lawley Primary Academy
LVDG hands over £1 million towards new school
Construction of the brand new Lawley Primary Academy is now well under way thanks to a £1 million handover from the Lawley Village Developer Group.
Work started on the school in January 2015 and the new building, off Martingale Way, is due to open in January 2016. The school will cater for 210 pupils aged between four and 11.
The £1 million handover is the first phase of a total of £3 million funding for the Lawley Village Primary Academy which is being provided by the LVDG, comprising Barratt Homes, Charles Church, David Wilson Homes, Persimmon Homes and Taylor Wimpey. The consortium has also provided the land for the school.
Guy Scott, Director for LVDG, says: "We are delighted to be supporting the creation of a new primary school at Lawley Village, which is a key milestone for the development and will further enhance the wonderful community life that's already so much in evidence here.
"We've been working very hard to ensure that Lawley Village becomes a truly sustainable development and are very proud this vision is now becoming a reality."
