Fresh selection of new homes coming soon at Lawley Village!
Phase 8 at Lawley Village will see the construction of more than 560 new homes by three builders - David Wilson Homes, Persimmon Homes and Taylor Wimpey - which are all part of the Lawley Village Developer Group (LVDG).
Work on this new phase started after Telford planners gave the scheme planning permission earlier this year.
Improvements to local infrastructure are due to be undertaken, with upgrading work to be carried out on the nearby motorway junction. A footbridge is also currently being built over Lawley Drive.
Lawley Village is one of the largest sustainable urban residential developments of its kind in the UK, and will eventually provide 3,500 homes, alongside new health, education, retail and leisure facilities.
So far, the LVDG, which also comprises Barratt Homes and Charles Church, is a third of the way through the development, having already built 1,200 homes since work started on the first phase in February 2007. Lawley also includes a selection of retailers, a supermarket, a bistro pub, Lawley and Overdale Parish Council offices, food outlets, health care and public open spaces and parks.
Guy Scott, Director for LVDG, said: "Obviously we are delighted that work has started on the next phase of Lawley Village. We are not only providing new homes and a new community, but securing further employment for local contractors. These are exciting times for Lawley.
"A wonderful community spirit is developing in Lawley as each phase of building comes together. The developers hope to have their first completions in Phase 8 by the start of next year as more people move into this great location."
