'Name that bridge' winner set to be announced
The name of a new footbridge which has just been installed at Lawley Village is now due to be chosen.
Members of the public have been putting forward suggestions for the name in a competition run by Lawley Village Developer Group (LVDG), and the closing date for entries was Friday 26th February.
As well as receiving vouchers worth £250 to spend at Lawley Square, the winner will see their own name displayed alongside their chosen name on the bridge and will be invited to cut the ribbon as guest of honour at its official opening!
The new footbridge, which cost £400,000 and is constructed from steel, crosses Lawley Drive and provides a convenient link between Church Croft / Clips Moor on Phase 1A and Turold Mews on Phase 3 of Lawley Village.
Carl Cooke, of the LVDG, says: "We were very impressed with the entries we received in the bridge naming competition and are looking forward to announcing the winning name."
