Developers launch Community Chest fund for Lawley Village
27th May 2014
The Lawley Village Developer Group (LVDG) has launched a Community Chest Fund which will provide local clubs, groups and societies with access to financial aid.
The development's new mascot, Louis the Lion was on hand at the LVDG management centre recently to unveil the scheme which is now open for applications.
As well as building new homes, LVDG, which comprises five of the country's leading developers, Barratt Homes, Charles Church, David Wilson Homes, Persimmon Homes and Taylor Wimpey, is working to create a vibrant new community in Telford.
In addition to the 650 new residents that now call Lawley Village home, a wide range of shops and services have moved in , including a supermarket, a nursery school, a doctor's surgery as well as a range of eateries and high street brands.
Now Lawley Village's community groups can benefit from the developers' commitment to create a destination that people can be proud of. Guy Scott, Project Manager for LVDG said, "We are delighted to formally launch the Community Chest and are excited to see and hear about what projects might be able to benefit from our support.
"LVDG has worked hard over many years to create the vibrant community you see today and hope the Community Chest goes some way to ensuring that there is a lasting legacy beyond just bricks and mortar."
All types of community groups, charitable organisations, teams, clubs, schools and colleges are being encouraged to apply for funding through the Community Chest. A maximum of £500 can be applied for at one time and priority will be given to those projects directly benefiting the people of Lawley Village.
To apply and for more information visit the Community Chest page.
