The introduction of over 3,000 new homes at Lawley Village will undoubtedly help meet the ever-increasing demand for new housing in and around Telford, but the vision behind this development encompasses so much more than that.
Telford & Wrekin Borough Council declared its vision for this particular scheme - a £600 million development creating a new community, Lawley Village. A scheme that would establish a community featuring a wide range of new homes, offices, restaurants, bars, shops and a school - at the very outset; namely, to create "A successful, prosperous and healthy community which offers a good quality of life for all the people of Telford & Wrekin".
The various partners behind this highly innovative scheme include the UK's largest house builders, working in close collaboration with the Homes and Communities Agency. These organisations have collectively embraced the most ambitious set of objectives for Lawley Village, striving to create a strong, cohesive community, in an area with its own clear character and 'sense of place'.
The vision for Lawley Village is to build a safe, healthy and sustainable environment, producing a vibrant economy, well-educated and skilled youngsters, and a place where people of all ages feel a real sense of belonging; a development that will meet the needs of existing and future generations.
